Dr. Harry Fyke
Harry Fyke brings to Crossroads Animal Hospital a diverse world of experience
in fields of science and research, as well as close family ties to the
community and a devoted following of Oxford pet owners. Dr. Fyke received
an associate degree in Applied Science and Marine Technology from Santa Barbara
City College and worked as part of the United States Antarctic Research Program,
combining diving experience with environmental research. After graduating
Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Microbiology from Mississippi State University,
Dr. Fyke went on to receive his doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine.
While at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine he served
as secretary/treasurer of his class for two years, and received the Mississippi
State Kennel Club Scholarship and American Veterinary Medical Association
Auxiliary Award. Dr. Fyke worked in a highly successful clinic in Tupelo
before returning to his Oxford roots: his grandmother, the late Mrs. J.P. Sisk
was a life-long resident of Oxford and many of Dr. Fyke's family members reside
here. Practicing in Oxford since 1997, Dr. Fyke has developed an extensive
and devoted clientele.
Dr. Katherine A. Kvam
Katherine Kvam brings over fifteen years of experience as a small animal
veterinarian to Crossroads Animal Hospital. A graduate of Harvard
University, and first in her class at Mississippi State School of Veterinary
Medicine, Dr. Kvam began her career in Madison, Mississippi, in
association with Dr. Rick Dunbar. Dr. Dunbar was, at that time, the only
private practitioner enjoying board-certification in internal medicine. What
began as a two person clinic is now one of the most sophisticated small animal
practices in the state. Dr. Kvam was an integral part of that
practice's growth and its remarkable success: it now supports six veterinarians and a
staff of twenty. Dr. Kvam has been an Oxford resident since 1996,
working for two years as a veterinarian in Oxford, before returning to the
Animal Health Center in Madison. She brings with her experience in not
only sophisticated medicine, but also in meeting the needs and expectations of
an upscale and demanding clientele.
Dr. Whitney Rayner
Whitney Rayner brings to Crossroads Animal Hospital devotion to her
profession, commitment to her hometown and family, and a background in
business. An Oxford native, Dr. Rayner and her family have been an
integral part of the fabric of the community for over 30 years. Dr. Rayner
earned a degree in Economics with a business minor from Vanderbilt University.
In the three years
following graduation from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary
Medicine, Dr. Rayner has practiced equine and small animal medicine in a variety
of settings.
